What Causes Pain In The Adams Apple?

WHEN I TOUCH ETHER SIDE OF MY ADAMS APPLE I GET REALLY SHARP PAINS IN THE BACK OF MY NECK. I WOULD LIKE TO WHAT THE CAUSE OF THIS COULD BE? I AM CURRENTLY IN AFGHANISTAN AND WAS BLOWN UP BY A 300 LBS IED. I WENT TO THE DOCTOR OUT HERE, AND HE TOLD ME HE DIDN'T KNOW WHY I HAD PAIN IN MY NECK WHEN TOUCHING MY ADAMS APPLE AND THEN GAVE ME 10MG OF AMITRIPTYLINE AND FIORICET FOR MY HEADACHE. HE TOOK ME WITH A GRAIN OF SALT BECAUSE HE HAD NEVER HERD OF THIS PROBLEM. SO, WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A LITTLE INSIGHT BEFORE I GO BACK.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
hello, thanks for ur query, in my opinion it could be perichondritis of throid cartilage secondary to trauma, infections( from throat) , radiations or growths of larynx or thyroid. if iam ur treatnig doctor i could have started antibiotic course with pain killer assuming traumatic( blown up injury) .if persistent, kindly evaluate with endoscopy and ultrasound neck.all d best, take care.
