What Causes Pain In Right Groin Area?

Doc, in my right groin area in the front upper crease I have had constant pain for many months, I really notice it when walking up stairs, it only hurts when walking. I have continued to work out and have lifted heavy weights with my legs but this really only occurs when I am climbing, I was wondering if this might be a hernia

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and thanks for your query.

I shall make an effort to provide you with good professional recommendations specific to your questions.

The most common cause of groin pain is muscle, tendon or ligament strain, particularly in athletes.

I would have suggested you to take an over-the-counter pain reliever such as ibuprofen for few days. Placing an ice pack on the sore area for 20 to 30 minutes two to four times a day will be beneficial. You can also try over the counter pain relieving gel or cream like volini for local application. If it does not sibside by this measures i would suggest you to see doctor for further evaluation.

Yet again, I duly appreciate your query to me, I do hope that you have found something useful to help you and I shall be glad to answer any further apprehensions.

Sincerely,
I find this answer helpful
