What Causes Pain In Pancreas, Constipation And Diarrhea

About five years ago I change my diet to eat as healthy as possible and over did it by eating whole cloves of garlic and sliced green peppers for lunch ever since then i have been having pain in my pancreas. I also have episodes of constipation that leads to gas build up and severe pain diarrhea and cold sweats while trying to remove my bowels to the point i feel like i am close to death. Also in my 20s I drank heavy at times which resulted in dIarrhea the day after but I haven t drank alcohol in 10 years. Is this time period to long to reverse symptoms and get healthy? If not then how do I get healthy without causing more damage?

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted your history of heavy alcohol consumption in 20's, but left drinking for the last 10 years, have episodes of constipation that lead to develop gases, severe pain and diarrhea almost to the point where you feel that you are close to death. Trying to change over to healthy diet which contains whole cloves of garlic, sliced green peppers for lunch. Wants to know the way to be healthy.
My thoughts:
First of all, stop using the whole cloves of garlic and peppers as yo have been taking as these are toxic when taken as whole as you have been suffering from pancreatitis, which gives less pancreatic enzymes in the intestines and does not allow proper digestion.
You need a proper evaluation and investigations as follows:
CT scan of the abdomen to assess the situation.
Tests of stool for 3 days and to see for undigested foods and intolerance.
Tests of blood particularly for diabetes as a fallout of pancreatitis.
To take the treatment as per the reports, control of diabetes if present, to take pancreatic enzymes with food.
Make a list of foods and beverages that suit your intestine.
Proper laxative if constipation.
Stop all the foods ad beverages that cause you loose stools or constipation.
Follow the advise of your Dietitian and Surgeon stringently.
Regular review is needed to have change in medicines, diet and lifestyle.
Avoid stress and/o anxiety.
