What Causes Pain In Nipple And Delay In Period?

I have nipple pain while breastfeeding, but only on the left side. Now, I have a pinkish spot rash that is mainly over my chest. The rash is not itchy or raised. I have had breast rumors in the past that were non cancerous. I period is also late, by over a week. I am not pregnant, I ve take three home test but all have been negative. In the past weeks I have had spotting, but with very small amounts of blood, not sure if that is related to anything.

The pain in the nipple could be due to some abrasion or a fissure and needs inspection by the health care provider, so also the rash needs to be inspected to arrive at a diagnosis whether it is viral. Your menstrual irregularity is more likely to be due to hormone imbalance, associated with lactation. To clarify, you can have a trans-vaginal sonogram along with a blood test to exclude/confirm pregnancy. If needed, a course of hormones may be given apart from lactating period. Hope this helps.
