What Causes Pain In My Lower Abdomen After Taking Mononessa?
I have been on birth control for 3-4 years and in the course of the past 3-4 years I have tried two different types of contraceptives. The first was trinessa it made me very ill and sleepy so my gyno took me off and prescribed me mononessa which I am currently on. I have always had these knife like pains in my lower abdomen more so my uterus. They come spontaneously and last 30 - 60 seconds. its very painful. they sometimes wont come back for weeks. just recently I have had them everyday for 2 or 3 days. I have had my yearly checkup and my test came back negative for any vaginal abnormalities. should I concerned or is it just a normal side effect of my birth control.
Abdominal pain and abdominal cramps are common side effects of the combinational contraceptive pill(mononessa) that you are on. If you are taking the pill as directed and having periods when taking inactive tablets, then I won't be much concerned about the pain. If the pain is highly unbearable or if you are missing the periods, then I would suggest for further work up including pregnancy tests. Hope this helps. Thanks.
