What Causes Pain In Legs And Above The Knees When Diagnosed With Diabetes?

I am type 1 diabetes mellitus age 61 , for 4 years , on insulin pump , since August 2015. I have been a runner all my life. I run marathon s . Not excessive training , for pleasure now. Problem is that I sometimes now experiencing top of leg pain, about 4inches above the knee upwards, no previous injury . YYYY@YYYY .

Generally the common cause of neural pain is neuropathy. If i were your treating doctor would have advised complete diabetic profile with nerve testing
