Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I recently fell off a longboard and hit my head, around the upper left hand corner of my forhead, and now (two days later) its still hurts to chew using the left side of my jaw. What could be going on here? Will it go away? Should I make a doctor's/dentist's appointment?
As per your query you have symptoms of pain in left jaw while chewing food is mainly because of cracked tooth syndrome. As you had fall 2 days ago you did not realize but one of tooth of yours got mild crack at root side which exerts pressure whenever you eat food and distributes this pressure from root area to jaw and leads you painful chewing of food.
I would suggest you to visit endodontist once as it will not go away its own. Get an IOPA |(X-ray) done to check exactly which tooth is involved in molar area. Dentist can examine it by observation as well by asking you to bite on cotton slooth and then checking tooth movement. Depending upon the level of involvement dentist can start with root canal treatment and you will be relieved with symptoms.
