What Causes Pain In Heels, Outer Thighs, And Left Ankle?

I am having pain in both heels, left and right outer thighs, and left and right elbows. Feels a little too symmetrical, yet it is real. My left ankle is a bit swollen. I cleaned house barefoot all day 4 days ago - all hard surfaces and then was on feet all day the next day at an outdoor event. But the pain does not seem to be decreasing so wondering if it could be from something else? And if so, what type of doctor should I see?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pain in heels, outer thighs, and left ankle . Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to aging-related wear and tear called disk degeneration .

It can also occur due to knee joint swelling , DVT and contact dermatitis. Hematoma due to injury or twisting and turning while lifting is also one of the major reason for this problem .

I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan ,MRI , myelogram , nerve conduction test along with physical examination . Doctor may also drain hematoma.

Doctor may also recommend physical therapy and surgery in some severe cases. Doctor may also refer you to podiatrist for foot problem .For now apply cold compresses and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain .

Doctor may also recommend strengthening exercises for quards .

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
