What Causes Pain In Ears, Throat And Tonsils?

I am having ear pain, throat pain, tonsil pain (specifically my left tonsil) and severe headaches. No medicine has been working to get rid of it. I have always had unusually large tonsils and I was wondering if this could be tonsilitis.
Side note, I have a cousin who did not get treatment for his tonsilitis and fluid leake into his pancreas and screwed it up. Now he has diabetes. Could this happen to me if I don't go to the doctor. I can not go to the doctor for a week minimum as my insurance card is not in my possession at the moment.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of pain in ears, throat and tonsils. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query , but in your case it seems to me that the symptoms are due to sore throat , it can be bacterial or viral . Also infection has traveled from sore throat to ear through Eustachian tube. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order throat swab test and blood test along with examination with laryngoscope and otoscope . Doctor may prescribe antibactrial ( amoxicillin or penicillin ) , anti viral ( acyclovir ) along with anti allergic and decongestant . For now do warm saline gargles and take steam .

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Get Well Soon.

Best Wishes,
