What Causes Pain In Buttocks While On Normacol?

Hi there. Since July 2013 after having a heamorroid operation, I have been taking normacol every alternate day. This has kept my stools soft and I have not struggled with constipation until recently. About 2 weeks ago I noticed that I am not going as regularly again as I am used to. My stools are still soft but smaller in size.I have also had buttocks pain. Is this a cause for concern.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It would be concerning if your stool are hard, you were straining with bowel movements or if the frequency had decreased significantly.
The change in stool frequency would contribute to your pain.

It is possible that any change in diet, decrease in fluid intake or activity level would have contributed to your symptoms.
If any of these are present then readjustment should cause improvement.

If there have been no changes then you can consider visiting your doctor for assessment.

I hope this helps
