What Causes Pain In Belly Button?

Hi my daughter has pain in her belly button and it makes her breathe differently. She seems to hold her belly in when it happens and hold her breathe for a second .Its been happening for a couple weeks but thought initially she might have pulled a muscle. She is only 6.

Hello, greetings. Thanks for your query. Pain near the belly button in young children maybe caused by inflammation in the appendix, or by an obstruction in the intestine. Both of these conditions require immediate surgery as any delay may lead to sever complications. I suggest you get an abdominal scan done for your daughter at the earliest.
