Hello dear, I can understand your concern.You apparently have a primary cough headache.Hallmarks of a primary cough headache are-acute onset,sharp or stabbing pain more prominent at the back of the head(it may radiate to shoulder also).Cough can also result in secondary cough headache with some intracranial lesion,however that seems less likely in your case,considering that your consciousness is preserved,your balance is normal and your headache is not associated with giddiness or any other symptoms suggestive of intracranial involvement.Medicines like indomethacin,acetazolamide and propranolol may be helpful for you(under your physician s guidance).Please consult your physician so that he can exclude any secondary cause of your headache and prescribe you the treatment needed.I hope it helps.
