What Causes Pain In Back And Buttocks?

Hello, So its very common for my boyfriend to get body acne. He doesn t get any on his face, just on his back and butt sometimes. They range from small painless ones to inflamed large ones. Shortly before he and I went on a two month break he got a promotion at work and started school for his MBA. During his two month break his acne on his butt continued to get worse but it s not like his acne from before. First of all, they are always purple and secondly they are never raised. So, there is never any pink or inflamed large ones. They are all the same. My mother who is a OBGYN prescribed him Bactrim thinking that it was some form of Mrsa but after finishing his prescription the purple spots have not gone away, nor have they spread elsewhere on his body or to me. He s never had acne this bad on his butt before. He s not in pain, it doesn t bother him but he and I both think his butt would look nicer without them. Do you think this is just stress related due to his promotion and starting on his MBA or could it possibly be something else? Thank you, Sasha

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
From history it seems that these acne type of eruptions on but side might be due to friction bumps with having plenty of perspiration on local part.
These might be due to allergic reaction of wearing synthetic inner wears.
Apply triple cream containing anti-fungal, antibiotic and steroid cream.
Wear cotton inner wears which will absorb the perspiration and will keep area dry.
Avoid using inner wear during night time.
Keep local part clean, dry and airy.
Ok and take care.
