Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I already have a scope scheduled with my GI for the 28th, however after pooping I get a severe pain in the anus, it started a few days ago after straining some when pooping. The pain seems to go on forever and sitting is a impossible. Abit of history, I just has an anal fistula repaired over 6 weeks ago. I went to the surgeon and he did a visual and could not see anything (was not experiencing pain at time of visit) But after I pooped again withoput straning and theg help of laxitives it still hurts like like hell.
Pain you feel after pooping in your anal area could be due to : - torn fistula, let the surgeon check it again - hemorrhoids or laceration of anal mucosa especially if you are passing hard stool and have been constipated recently. I highly recommend to avoid constipation: - increase fluids intake - take fiber rich foods; fiber supplements can help - take gentle laxatives and stool softeners - go to toilet when you feel the need, do not delay - try not to strain too hard or longer to avoid laceration of anal mucosa
Hope this helps.
