What Causes Pain At The Spot Of Herpes Infection? Suggest Treatment

My mother had a herpes infection in her left part of the head including the left eye starting on 20.03.2014. Now she has a severe pain in her left part of the head where the infection took place occassionaly,(max 6 times a day). What is the cause of the pain and how it can be treated?

Hello
It seems from the history that your mother had herpes following which she is having pain. This is called as post hetpetic neuralgia and it is common following herpes zoster infection.
The treatment is by use of analgesics and antiinflammatory drugs. Sometimes opioid analgesics are required. The other drugs which can be used are cimitidine.
Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for examination and treatment accordingly.
