What Causes Pain At The Joints?

One of my friends mother who is in her mid 60 s is now suffering from pains at the bone joints and its irregular today if leg joints pain then tomorrow elbow some time fingure joints. And the docs says that this is not curable they can only reduce the pains using pain killers. Can somebody tell me what is this

I really appreciate your concern, given symptoms could be due to arthritis and if is so then permanent cure for it may not be possible but some time steroid could helps a lot but that patient need to be qualified, and it is to be given under medical supervision, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
