What Causes Pain And Symptoms Of Appendicitis After Removal Of Appendix?

I got my appendix removed 7 years ago... and every year since then I get the same symptoms and same pain on my right side... I go the the doctor and they tell me I m just constipated... which im not... last year i spent a week in the hospital because i had a septic bacterial infection where my appendix was removed...they refused to do surgery because they said the antibiotics would take care of it. Now a little less than a year later and Im experiencing the same pain and symptoms

hello,
as you said, if you have your appendix removed then the related symptoms must subside.
yes, the right side pain is suggestive of appendicitis but that is not the only condition which causes right side abdominal pain.
yes, the reason because of which you were hospitalized because of the local infection at appendix site, and this was dealt with with antibiotics, this surely could make appear the related symptoms.
see, this might be the prominent cause.
it could have been happened that some minor infection would remained uncleared there and which on the passage of time grow sufficient enough to cause you discomfort.
and this through the course of time grew large enough to get you hospitalized. and ya , in the case of heavy infection, surgery is not recommended and the condition is better treated conventionally through antibiotics.
if the appendix is not the case, then there is another condition known as meckle's diverticulum, which is a similar projection from small intestine just as the appendix and which in the same manner might get inflamed uttering the same symptoms.
either of the thing could be the reason for the condition you are having.
thanks
regards
