What Causes Pain And Swelling In The Butt Crack?

I have a pain right where my butt crack starts. It seems to be a bit red. It also seems to be slightly swelling.
It hurts to sit or lay down, but not when standing. Only when i bend over to sit or something.
The pain has been worse, to the point of moaning in pain. but it isn't even as bad as a leg cramp!

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The given symptoms could be due to fungal infection and in my opinion it can be managed with broad spectrum local application like Povidone-Iodine ointment, although clinical examination is the option for the right diagnosis because it could be an abscess formation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Akhtarhusain
