What Causes Pain And Swelling In Eyelid?

My eye-lid started hurting two days ago. Today I woke up with a swollen eye-lid. It hurts to touch it, or wipe it. Its a little red, and where it really hurts, it feels like theres a bump there. I don't know what it is. I'm worried because, I just been told I have a u.t.i & I haven't had any medication for it. I know theres a chance of being able to catch kidney problems, if not taking medicine. And when i looked up the symptoms for my eye problem, it said it could be because, kidney disorder. Please help.

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hello
Welcome to Health care Magic.

I am Dr. Dadapeer K, an ophthalmologist and I will be answering your question.

I reviewed your history. It seems from the history that you are having pain and swelling of the eyelid. This is commonly because of involvement of the glands of the eyelids. This is not related to kidney disease, hence no need to worry.
This requires treatment by the use of antibiotics and antiinflammatory drugs.

Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for examination and treatment accordingly.

Hope the information is helpful to you.
Do write back to me for further questions.

Thank you
With regards
