Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
The Epley maneuver is used to treat benign paroxystic positional vertigo. It consists of sequential movement of the head into four positions and staying in each position for roughly 30 seconds. After these maneuvers, pain and stiffness may occur in neck.
When performing this maneuver, caution is advised if neurological symptoms like weakness, numbness, visual changes other than vertigo occur. Occasionally such symptoms are caused by compression of the vertebral arteries, and if one persists for a long time, a stroke could occur.
I will therefore encourage that the maneuver be done only under medical supervision and when the diagnosis of BPPV has been well established. If the above neurologic symptoms appear other than the pain you describe, i advise you stop the maneuver and see the Doctor for evaluation.
Hope my answer will help you
Best regards
