What Causes Pain And Stiffness In The Neck And Headache?

I woke up this morning with a stiff and painful neck/ headache, mostly on the rear left side at the base of my skull radiating into my head on both sides. I went to my chiropractor this afternoon and he did some adjustments with the thumb activator. Now the pain and stiffness is worse. I have been applying ice but it seems worse. I have taken ibuprofen and am now applying heat.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for trusting HCM

Neck stiffness, pain along with a headache raises the concern for meningitis especially if associated with fever.
It should not be taken lightly, and I recommend that you follow up with the emergency room to confirm the diagnosis and if positive for meningitis, management with antibiotics.

Hope this answers your question
