What Causes Pain And Soreness In Legs After Workout?

A week ago on Monday I worked out.. I did heavier than normal and extra reps of the leg press and weighted squats. While doing so I had no pain at all. I left the gym thinking all was fine. That night my knees became extremely sore. It was almost impossible for me to bend to go to the rest room or walk up my stairs. At the end of the week it seemed like the pain was getting better. Today is the next Monday. It s been a week. Yesterday my knees became more painful again and the pain is staying. It does not hurt to touch my knees at all. I can t elicit any pain from touch. To bend is incredibly painful. Once again I can barely bend to sit on the toilet. What should I do? Did I do major damage?

Dr. Hanif warmly Welcomes you!

Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic. I have carefully worked through your case, and I can realize your health worries. Being your physician, I assure you not to worry as I will take care all of your medical concerns.

There isn't any major damages. This is all normal. You should have started under the guidance of your gym instructor. They will take you from lowest to high and will tone up your body rather than to damage the muscles. Lactic acid accumulation and muscular spasm causes the trouble which you have faced.

Now massage the muscles with Rub: A535 Arnica Gel Cream, and apply heat pads. Take Ibuprofen800mg and If you want to continue gym start it right away but under guidelines of gym instructor this time. Don't skip gym not even for a single day because it will hurt you more. Continuing on a regular pace will tone your body up to handle the stress.

Take plenty of fluids and keep a balanced diet with high proteins and low fat, good whole grains, nuts, vegetables and salads, fruits and coconut water.

Hope I answered all of your health concerns . If you have further questions in future, feel free to contact me anytime. In the start of your question write my name, and I will get back to you in no time. If satisfied, please click you found it helpful.

Have a wonderful time ahead.
