I went to bed last night and my knee started to hurt. By today it was really bad. The pain is on top of knee cap with a very tender spot. Also there is pain when I try to bend my knee. Seems there is a small red spot on knee cap. Can t notice any major swelling. Any ideas??

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The most common cause of pain in the knee joint is trauma to the knee.
Is there any history of trauma to the knee joint?
Infections of the knee joint can also cause pain during movement or bending.
I suggest you to consult an orthopedician for clinical assessment of the knee joint.
Relevant investigations like X-ray of the joint may be required.
For better visualization of the soft tissues, a MRI may also be required.
Management can only be planned once diagnosis is made after clinical assessment and investigations.

Thanks and take care
