What Causes Pain And Itching In The Vagina?

About 5 or 6 days ago, i noticed that a part of my vulva, seemingly my inner labia, was very sensitive to touch and also quite painful. After some google research it seemed as though I had a simple tear. However, my boyfriend and I continued to have sex, the pain and stinging would disappear during sex and come back quite intensely when we finished. Now, the pain has gone away, but my vagina is feels very itchy and raw all the time. Is this still a tear? Or is it possible that I have a yeast infection?

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I have read your description and understand your concern.
What problems you are encountering with itching and pain in the vaginal region could be an inflammation of the mucosa, and could be associated with bacterial or yeast infection.
Kindly do the following to overcome it.
1. Wash the area with mild antiseptic solution like Savlon twice daily.
2. Take Tablet. Levocetirizine once a day to control itching.
3. Apply anti-fungal medication like Fluconazole as vaginal pessary for 3 successive days.
4. Take a course of oral antibiotics Tablet.Metronidazole.
5. Use pH balancing solution like 'V Wash' regularly.
6. Wear loose fitting undergarments to avoid friction in the area.
7. Abstain from sexual activities till the symptoms subsides completely.
Maintain good personal hygiene. Your symptoms should get better gradually.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
