What Causes Pain And Discomfort In Testicles?

Hi, I'm 19, 6'2" about 180 or so lbs and am concerned I may have testicular torsion. The pain/discomfort is mild and has gradually increased over a day or two. I have scheduled an appointment with my doctor at 3:40 pm, and it is 7:43 am right now. I'm wondering if it is okay that I wait or if I should seek immediate treatment.

Hi. First, the torsion of the testis develops as a acute, severe pain and it does not increase over two days, it is at its maximum from the beginning. Torsion of the testis is a surgical emergency and requires immediate scrotal exploration.
So, in your case, it does not seems to be a torsion rather, it would be epididymo-orchitis. It is usually associated with some urinary tract infection or filariasis.
You will require a urinalysis and start on antibiotics for the same as well as some pain killers for the relief.
If, filaria is common in your region, please get a blood peripheral smear test done for parasite to rule out filariasis.
If, reports shows filariasis, then you need to take diethyl carbamazine for 21 days in a doze of 300mg two times a day.
