What Causes Pain And Bloating In The Upper Abdomen?
Had bloating feeling painful then moving to upper stomach then upper right front of shoulder. Tried Coca Cola to burp but couldn t. Severe stabbing pain when breath cough. Gone off food and liquid even my morning coffee! No appetite. Feels wheezy and can hear when listen. Dizzy if I ever turn my head laying down especially when standing very light headed. Pain in right arm like from shoulder blade and then under armpit. Get up at night freezing cold shivering uncontrollably. No motivation at all. Went GP not my normal one, initially thought gall stones but after realised had them out said could be lap band related.
You need to try a Fifteen day course of 1. Omeprazole 20 mg twice a day empty stomach. 2. Ranitidine 150 mg after every major meals. 3. Syrup Gaviscon or Digene 1 table spoon full as and when needed. Coca Cola will only worsen the bloating as it has gas. Morning Coffee is best avoided for many reasons. If you don't improve with above, do a Rapid Urea Breath test or Serology for Antibodies against Helicobacter pylori. This is an organism that has suited itself to the hyper-acidic environment of Stomach. It can cause your symptoms. Contact your GP for managing this if the tests are positive. Hope it is helpful.
