What Causes Pain After Intercourse And Difficulty Conceiving?

Hi, I have had irregular periods for over two years (my youngest child is 2 and was born 4 weeks early).I had a miscarriage last March and have had what I assume is ovarian pain (I did have a cyst on right ovary) on my right side often (weekly sometimes with intercourse and sometimes randomly when I haven t had intercourse recently. This last week I have had dull flank pain on my right side. I m not sure what to make of it all, but am frustrated that I have not used any birth control and yet have been unsuccessful in having another child.

HI,
I understand your concern.
Your main concerns are pain with/ without sex on right side of your abdomen & inability to conceive after abortion last year.
* pain seems to be due to your ovarian cyst ( as per the information given)
Other possible causes can be _ PCOD ,Pelvic inflammation,digestive / urinary problems .
An abdominal sonography would help to detect most of the causes. Urine/ stool examination, plain X ray abdomen are advised if needful.
* Inability to conceive is mostly due to the irregular menses you have.Both ovarian cyst, PCOD, and also hormonal imbalance, thyroid problems can cause it.Of course your husband's semen analysis also needs to be checked.
You need a gynecologist's advise for examination/ investigations/ treatment for getting the problem cleared.& that will help you in getting conceived.
