What Causes Pain After A Hip Replacement?

2 years post op hip replacement.recently had xray bone scan and mri of lower back was told nothing wrong.moved my leg sideways in bed and felt sharp pain.woke up a couple of hours later with pain in my thigh and excruciating pain upon weight bearing.radiology report from er said loosening in ace tabular cup but follow up with ortho said not

Hi.

The loosening could have rectified itself temporarily when you visited the ortho, I would recommend a repeat xray and immediate consultation with your ortho if this occurs. Impingement could also be causing this and will require a detailed examination and recalling by the operating surgeon. If this persists, a second block should be conducted to make sure all is well.
