General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Ovarian cysts are common and may be single, multiple, or may occur as a part of the polycystic ovarian syndrome.

Also, hormonal imbalance may cause ovarian cysts which are in most cases small and asymptomatic, but sometimes may cause symptoms and require specific treatment, especially, if cysts are larger than 5 cm, bleeding, torsioned, or ruptured. The surgical treatment is required.

Also, if there is polycystic syndrome as the underlying cause then hormonal therapy is indicated. Pain is usually placed deep in the pelvis on the affected side and may be associated with nausea and fever. To diagnose the exact type you should do the ultrasound and vaginal examination.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ivan R. Rommstein
