What Causes Orange Spots On Throat And Tonsils?

Do I need an antibiotic if I have orange spots on my throat and tonsils. Persistent and somewhat painful cough. No fever, no heavy chest congestion. cough is worse in evening and often painful when I swallow. I prefer not to take any antibiotics if my body will take care of the illness. Thank you.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi , your clinical history is suggestive of follicular tonsillitis.

You have not mention your age & weight.
Use antiseptic mouthwash , Plenty of fluids , Ibuprofen & vit c. In this condition i prescribe antibiotic to my patient because since in few patients it may lead to heart & kidney related problem.

Certainly above treatment will give you much relief but if relief is not upto satisfaction level then consultation with your ENT doctor will become essential.
