What Causes Occult Blood In Urine?

Hi doc, My name is Ganesh.....i am a working professional...as per company policy, i had undergone periodic medical examination.....in urine tests, i got to know that there are traces of occult blood, 5-7 RBC and bacteria in my urine......please let me know, is that harmful? Should i get treated for that? What are the treatments? Why does that happen so i can be cautious in future. Pls help.

I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
If you don't have burning sensation in urine or pain then no need to worry. 2-3 rbcs are common in urine. If you have symptoms of urinary tract infection then you should take treatment. A course of antibiotics like levofloxacin or norfloxacin is helpful. It is prescription based medicine so consult your doctor and take treatment accordingly.
