What Causes Numbness Under The Hallux?

Hello. Monday I was weeding my flower bed after cutting the grass, always barefoot, when I noticed some numbness on the bottom of my foot below my big toe area. I did not feel a stinger but was concerned so I walked to the fire station in hopes a paramedic there could tell me how to treat the numbness. Because my feet were still green from cutting the grass, they could not give me a good answer, just said to put a cold pack on the area. The numbness slowly went away but I could still feel it on Tuesday. Any suggestions beside put on shoes?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi ,Welcome to HCM.
Dear first of all I want to know that apart from cutting the grass bare foot ,have you any history of fall or any injury on leg.As it can be because of nerve irritation.I would also like to suggest that get a blood sugar level ,as High blood sugar level can cause this also.
If the numbness continues you should go for EMG test to exclude any nerve injury and visit a neurologist.
Regards,
Dr.Maheshwari
