Dry socket is one of the most common complication after a traumatic extraction and it needs to be packed regularly every alternate day till the healing is considerably done.. It can take as long as two weeks even more for appropriate healing to occur.. You should get the dressings changed every second day and as there is pain also you also need to take a course of antibiotics like Amoxiclav [Amoxicillin + Clavulanate potassium] and anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen for a period of atleast 7 days.. Do cool compresses on cheek and warm saline gargles. As the nerve was also traumatised start taking Vitamin B complex supplements as they help in nerve repair and regeneration.. All this should be done under supervision of an oral surgeon.. Hope this information helps you.. Take care.
