General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
I understand your concern.
At 8 months pregnancy, numbness of hands /fingers can be due to
- pressure on nerve supplying hand ( during sleep - wrong posture)/ swelling on hands can cause pressure on nerves ( carpel tunnel syndrome)
- Exposure to cold,
- severe anemia.
* management-
- If you have swelling over feet/ hands- get your blood pressure checked & follow medications advised./ severe anemia can cause swelling on hands. Treatment of anemia is to be taken with expert advise.
- Vitamin B complex /B12 supplements are helpful.
- Use a splint/ brace to keep the carpel tunnels wider ,this will prevent pressure on nerves.
- Physical exercises for hands help.
Thanks.
Thanks.
- avoid exposure to cold.
