What Causes Numbness In Ear?

I have been going to swimming from past 15 days for an hour daily. From day before yesterday, I felt pain in my right ear and today all night I was not able to sleep. Towards the morning,I felt my right ear going numb and heavy. What can be the reason? Will I lose my hearing ability?

i can think of two conditions right now
1) otomycosis i.e fungus in ear, get external ear canal inspected, if positive start antifungals.
2) water has entered eustachian tube, causing acute otitis media. start decongestants. pain killers, avoid direct jumping in to the water.
