What Causes Numbness And Tingling In Spine Along With Knee Pain?

I just used SYMPTOM CHECKER because I ve been experiencing numbness and tingling along the left side of my spine. Just read about Thoracic Spinal Stenosis. Also, read that knee problems can cause the same symptoms. I fell on my knees about 4 years ago and have had some problems with them ever since, particularly the left knee. I can no longer kneel on that knee at all and they tend to ache towards the end of the day ever since I injured them. But, I don t understand how that might cause numbness and tingling in my back.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The pain in the knees is probably due to the trauma caused by the fall.
Imaging study of the knee is required to look for damage to any structure in the knee joint.
Numbness and tingling sensation on left side of spine can be due to thoracic canal stenosis.
A MRI of the spine is required to look for stenosis or any other kind of spinal lesion.
If no spinal lesion is detected then there is some other nerve related cause of these symptoms.
I suggest you to consult an orthopedician for clinical assessment, relevant investigations and thus management.

Thanks and take care
