What Causes Numbness And Tingling In Lips Post Injury To Bottom Lip?

Hello I fell over yesterday and bury through my bottom lip. Went to go this morning who said ideally I should of gone to a and e to have it stitched and then gave me antibiotics. I am now experiencing numbness/tingling in lip is this normal? It almost fells like been to the dentist and had injection which is starting to wear off. Thank you

Numbness and abnormal sensations can occur as a result of trauma to any area of the body.

It is due to disruption of the nerves in the area. In this cases where your tooth cut your bottom lip, the disruption is very likely temporary and should resolve in a few days up to a week.
