What Causes Nose Bleeds And Persistent Headaches?

My husband was in southern Ca last week. His nose started to bleed and kept bleeding off an on for a few days. He also stated that blood clots were coming out, liquid at first, then the clots. He is home now and has a persistent headache and now just found blood on a q-tip from his ear.

Thanks for contacting HCM with your health concern

1. having a headache with nose bleed can be a sign of minor issues like hay fever, sinus infection, use of nasal sprays or something more severe like anemia or low blood count, so in best interest, it is wise to consult a Hematologist who will investigate his complete blood profile [essential thrombocythemia is one]

2. Likewise get an appointment with a Cardiologist/Neurologist to exclude any heart problem [high blood pressure/heart disease] or brain tumor

3. make certain lifestyle adjustments to reduce stress in your life, making time for relaxation, and identifying triggers so you can avoid them.
