What Causes Night Time Fever And Dry Cough?

Hi,Its Latasha bhatt , i have been suffering from sickness wherein ,I get fever at night hours, and it happens that the whole body gets cold n then after few mins i start feeling hot . Dry coughing is dere too . My father is a physician so iam taking medicines prescribed by him since lats 5 days but i am unable to explain him what exactly going on with me, can you help Dr. Santosh?

Hello
Since your father is a physician and you are taking drugs prescribed by him . Still no relief , even after 5 days treatment . Feeling of cold and hot flashes with dry cough .
When such patient visit I prescribe some bronchodilator cough syrup terbutaline +chlorpheniramine maleat.( if already taken then take montelukast+bambuterol , one tablet in the night with dextromethophan syrup).
As far as concerned about fever it may be due to flu so you have to wait for 7-10 days and only tylenol is sufficient according to necessity .
Usually feeling of cold and hot is a characteristic feature of flu.
Still no relief within 7-10 days then get in complete routine tests for malaria, typhoid , tuberculosis , asthmatic bronchitis.
These are prescription drugs .
