What Causes Neck Pain Along With Headaches And Sinus Pressure?

i was rubbing my pressure points one afternoon and continued up to my neck and head. Behind my right ear area I noticed a very sensitive area, so a proceeded to rub and rub it, but after I did I noticed that the right side of my face, neck and head areas are very heavy. When I sleep at night and lift my head to change positions, the right side of my neck hurts so bad that i can hardly turn my head, and I wake up with a headache and sinus pressure every morning, and am concerned about the amount of ibuprofen I m taking to get rid of it. I went to the doctor and he gave me a prescription for antibiotics because he felt it was a sinus infection. I took the antibiotic faithfully for 5 days but, honestly didn t finish the prescription. Should I have finished the antibiotics or could there be an underlying issue?

Dear sir/ madam,
By the description that you have provided it appears to be a case of acute sinusitis. Sinusitis usually runs a chronic course and responds only to long term antibiotic course. when it happens, the patient experiences high grade fever, pain in head, neck, ears and cheeks. with posture, the pain also appears to shift. the best treatment for this condition is a 7-10 day course of antibiotics, antiallergics and pain killers (NSAIDs). it is advisable to undergo this treatment regimen under the supervision of an ENT specialist, so pls visit one at the earliest.

Pls do not delay the treatment as the complications like glue ear, persistant headache, deafness and hoarseness of voice may occur.

get well soon,
regards
Dr. Sonia
