What Causes Nausea And Vomiting Along With Diarrhea And Chills?

Yes Hello. last late afternoon I felt slight symptoms of wanting to vomit. I went directly home and started to feel chills. I dressed in sweat pants 2 long shirts socks and a wool skull cap. within an hour or so I started to vomit every 10 to 15 minutes. This lasted all night, until heavy dry heaving, by morning. Then the diarea ( water ) started and lasted all day. What did I catch. how long will it last, what can I do. The vomiting seems to have stopped, but not the diarea. Im still dressed the same and just got a piece of toast and honey down with a cup of tea. so far so good

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your son have symptoms of nausea and vomiting along with diarrhea and chills which seems to be due to food poisoning and acute gastroenteritis. It could be due to disturbed metabolism of body leading to electrolyte imbalance. I would suggest you to take acetaminophen and anti emetic medication. Avoid intake of any outside food. Take diet rich in multivitamins and avoid any oily sharp and fast food. Visit gastroenterologist once and get it examined. You should get blood tests done to find out underlying cause of condition along with stool test , endoscopy and ultrasound and start treatment accordingly. Your symptoms will resolve in 3-5 days. You should take proper rest. You should take plenty of fluids to re-hydrate rather you shoyld take ORS.
