What Causes Nausea And Blisters On The Tongue After Taking Augmentin?

Yes ty. Being treated for sinus infection.was given augmentin. Have had four tabs. Now very nausea. I also take methotrexate weekly for rheumatoid arthritis. I also noticed blister like areas on sides of my tongue. And of course I am travelling. Should I continue antibiotic?

Hi.
Thanks for the query..

It looks like a side effect of Augmentin that contains active ingredient Amoxicillin and Clavulanic Potassium..
You should consult an Emergency room and get evaluated so that they can change the antibiotics or at least reduce the dosage to relieve the symptoms..
However the symptoms are temporary and will resolve once the antibiotic intake will be ceased..
For now you can take plenty of probiotics like Yogurt and take empty stomach Omeprazole.
You can gargle with Magic​ mouthwash to relieve the soreness of tongue and take Vitamin B complex..
