My husband had all of his lower teeth prepped for crowns and temporary a put on he had several shots of numbing medicine over four hours in the chair yesterday . He felt fuzzy mentally but slept well, today he became nauseated and it has lasted all day. Is this a potential reaction fron the procedure?

Hello,

As per your complain nausea and feeling fuzzy after dental procedure for which he has been given multiple shots of local anesthetics seems to be most probably a side effect of the anesthetic agent. Do not worry as the symptoms will subside gradually as the effect of anesthesia will wean off from the body. As of now he should take sufficient rest and also take anti-emetics like Ondansetron if there is a feeling of vomiting. Take a semisolid diet and plenty of water. Lemon water can help in reducing nausea.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Honey Arora
