Hi ,for about 12 weeks now I have been suffering with a stuffy nose , and a feeling of breathlessness , and also wheezing when I lie down , althougni have a blocked nose and I am wheezing I do nose have any phlemb or a cough. I have been on holiday in Portugal and it was so bad it ruined my holiday all I could concentrate on was getting better and being able to breath properly , so I thought it would go away when I got home to England however it has stayed the same , im went to the doctor for a blood test and he also checked my lungs with the thing they put on my back and every thing was fine he said , but I am still feeling the symptoms that have destroyed my life for 12 weeks. Last year around this time I got a cold and used a nasal spray , however I did not look at the label and exceeded the amount , that cause me to be unable to breath properly out my nose for quite some time , after 2 months it got a it better and I could carry on going to the gym and carry on with life however it has seemed to come back but much worse and it seems to not be going . Please help me if you can , thank you

Hi Dear ,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of nasal congestion, breathlessness and wheezing while having anxiety which is due to upper respiratory tract infection , asthma, allergic reaction, post nasal drip due to sinusitis and common cold. I would suggest you to take few preventive measures such as you should take cough expectorants. You should take anti inflammatory and anti allergic medication such as Levocetirizine. You should use throat lozenges and go rinses with warm saline water. You should Chew a Vitamin C pellet. Take decongestants and mucolytic agents. Avoid cold carbonated beverages. Take diet rich in vitamin B12. You should take antibiotics such as Levofloxacin or Azithromycin for 5-7 days. You should get blood test and swab test done. Breathlessness sometimes become serious problem so visit ENT specialist without any delay and get it examined. Start treatment after complete examination.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
