What Causes Muscle Spasms In The Abdomen While Coughing And Heart Burn?

I get cramps, almost like a muscle spasm, in my upper left abdomen when I cough, sneeze, or laugh too hard. And the only relief is lying down or leaning stretched back. This started about a year ago, along with getting heartburn for the first time that just burns the back of my throat. I know I have poor circulation because I get calf cramps a lot too, mainly when I stretch in the middle of sleep or mid morning. I dont know if its related but I have no idea what it is. Ive looked up what others say, and no one can diagnose it. Some have said that they also get it with heart burn or after gallbladder surgery.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of getting cramps like pain in the left upper abdomen after coughing, sneezing or laughing hard, relieved by lying down or leaning stretched back. Started about a year ago along with heartburn, burning at the back of throat, also have calf cramps when stretched in bed in sleep or mid-morning...
The Heart burn problem has accentuated by burning in throat and is called GERD that is gastro-esophageal reflux disease.
Muscle spasms in the left upper abdomen looks to be muscular only and may not be related to anything in the abdomen.
I would advise you the following:
PPI like Omeprazole once a day and Ranitidine too as it is a year long problem.
Domperidone for which you need a prescription.
Antacid liquid every three hourly, particularly when you are on empty stomach.
Get examined by your Doctor or a General Surgeon.
Upper GI Endoscopy
Ultrasound of the abdomen.
Further treatment if required as per the investigations and clinical evaluation.
