I have severe muscle Leg cramps and my hands cramp up into a claw from cramps , usually after doing physical labor & sweating. This has become a problem within the last year. I am 62 yrs old a have high blood pressure and high cholesterol that are controlled by Rx meds.
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Muscle cramps occur generally because of electrolyte and calcium imbalance in the body. You could be experiencing as a result of this mainly due to loss of electrolytes through sweat. Kindly keep yourself well hydrated by consuming liquids and oral rehydration solution (ORS) regularly. Also, it would be advisable to supplement regularly with calcium in the form of tablets or syrup, along with intake of diet rich in calcium such as milk. Considering your age, it would be better for you not to over-strain at work and give adequate rest. Gradually, you should get relieved from these symptoms and should feel better. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
