Dear user,

Ya. It could have been due to use of statin for longer time.Muscle pain and damage are most common complaints by statin users.Research and studies say that Statins may affect certain enzymes present in muscle cells that handle muscle growth. This may cause the muscle aches. Rhabdomyolysis is rarely seen which is severe form of muscle damage lead to kidney and liver damage. If you feel muscle pain persistent then there are other nonstatin drugs such as gemfibrozil or niacin to treat dyslipidaemia. You should consult your family doctor to make aware about the side effect of statin.
