What Causes Mucus Production And Itching In Throat?

I'm recovering from my stomache acid causing I think its "Gurd" (throat spasms) and I coughed up a mucus ball. It had like a soft shell and tasted like snot. Also it feels like theres hair in my throat when ever the mucas clears up and it makes my throat itchy. Any ideas? Oh, I am taking omeprazole for the "Gurd" and occasionally Nyquil Severe for the mucus build up.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.
Omeprazole taken for GERD is fine. In Gastro esophageal reflux disease(GERD) gastric contents are refluxed in esophagus, throat & even mouth due to low lower esophageal sphincter tone.
This makes bad acidic taste,heartburn, pain/itching in throat and other problem. Don't lay down immediately after having meals. Try to have a little walk after meals.
you might be having sore throat as well, so Salt Water Gargle can be done too. Mix 1 tsp of salt with warm water in a glass. Gargle for roughly 15-20 seconds and spit out. You can repeat this as needed for 2-3 days. Remember to spit the water after rather swallowing it.
Visit your physician , if problem persist
