What Causes Mucus In Stools And Excessive Gas Formation In A Child?

hi, I am 13 years old and I think I have ibs. I am constipated, but then I m not.minhave a bowl movement or 2 one day, and the next, nothing. I also have been hearing my stomach and butt make farting noises, and it sounds and feels like trapped gas inside. This morning I also pooped out mucus. Is this normal? Help would be great(;

All the symptoms you point could be due to IBS, but they can also be due to a stomach flu or a virus. It should be imperative for you to wait for at least a few weeks before you rule out a virus. Get a stool test done if possible and share the results here. If you are from a tropical country, all your symptoms could be due to an intestinal parasite called Giardia lamblia.

In short there are more than 1 reasons for your symptoms and you need to seek out a doctor, do a stool test and try waiting for a few weeks before you begin thinking of IBS.
