What Causes Mouth Ulcers While On Orencia?

I just started Orencia and am still on the loading doses. I have developed mouth sores and sores on my tongue similar to when I was on methotrexate. I was prescribed folic acid to help with them much quite a bit of success. I am off the metho now for a while but have just started with the sores again. Could it be the orencia and if it might, will the folic acid help? I have an appointment coming up soon for another loading dose.

Orencia [Abatacept] is used to treat auto-immune diseases in which the self immunity of the body tries to damage certain tissues and organs of the body..
Mouth ulcers is one of the common side effect of Orencia like that with Methotrexate..
Yes, taking folic acid can help in relieving the sores and along with it you can also take Vitamin B complex and Lysine supplements..
You should also avoid certain foods that can exaggerate the mouth sores like Acidic or Citrus foods..
You can also do soda bicarb gargles..
